| The city
of Long Branch is requesting, by law,
that all persons who wish to file
nominating petitions as candidates for
the Long Branch Board of Education file
on or before 4 p.m. Feb. 28.
The election is
scheduled for April 19.
Petitions may be
obtained from the secretary, Nancy
Valenti, at the Board of Education
building, 540 Broadway. The petition
must be filed with the secretary of the
board of education of the school
district in which the candidate resides.
Prospective school
board candidates can obtain a School
Board Candidate Kit from the secretary.
The kit is published by the New Jersey
School Boards Association and includes
information about legal qualifications
for school board candidacy, campaign
procedures and the role of the school
board member.
